WEST 104TH STREET BLOCK ASSOCIATION BLOCK BYTES
The 104 Street Yard Sale, if you did not know, is a once a year event that the West 104 Street Block Association puts on.
The street is closed to traffic, the cars are removed, and vendors set up shop selling used merchandise – the majority of which comes from people’s apartments on the block.
There is a book table, a silent auction, a raffle, a bake table, a silent auction and a what a bargain table.
All of this requires legions of volunteers- help is needed from two hours upward. Please consider assisting in either donations or time or both.
It is a good way to meet people and see the ‘secret sauce’ that the event creates, as well as a convenient way to recycle unwanted items.
In addition to buying stuff, there are plenty of ways to get involved:
- Donate Books
- Donate to the Silent Auction
- Donate to the What-A-Bargain table
Donations for the above will be accepted Sept. 8th through the 23rd. Details for each will sent in separate block bytes.
Other ways to get involved:
- Donate bake goods
- Donate your time either before or day of the event (we need volunteers).
Separate block bytes will be sent for these as well.
