Free Composting Pails

WEST 104TH STREET BLOCK ASSOCIATION BLOCK BYTES

The Block Association is giving out FREE composting cans for every apartment that wants one!

Just Email Us, and we’ll have a can ready for you with your name on it, waiting at 315 Riverside Drive.

Tan colored Composting pail with a white handle and lid shown on a kitchen counter next to a roll of paper towels.

I used to be totally resistant to composting. Not that I disliked the idea, but I couldn’t imagine living with rotting food smells all around.

How could it make a difference? How would I store this stinky stuff? I was sure I’d be drowning in garbage (apologies to Pigpen).

But then I realized—there was a small compartment next to my sink that was perfect for composting material!

And now? I’m composting and bringing it downstairs every other day.
And you know what? It’s odd- there is less garbage. WAY less smell. Plus, my apartment is less interesting to rodents!

The best part? The apartment actually smells better! Who would’ve thought?

And the rats? They’re not getting a feast anymore.

Trust me—just give it a try! After that, you’ll be hooked. I know I am.

These cans are provided by Shaun Abreau’s office, It’s Easy Being Green and the West 104 Street Block Association.

Be safe, and do keep in touch with us.

Thanks!
